So, I finally finished our taxes. I spent over 2 hours compiling mileage for charitable deduction, only to have it reduce my taxes by $15. What a waste of time!!
This is the time of year that reminds me we need serious changes to our tax system. I am a supporter of the fair tax. I think it is the best solution we have for right now, and is certainly a step in the right direction.
The Fair tax organization is trying to get 100,000 signatures on their petition by April 15 to present to lawmakers. They are only 4,000 away. Even if you haven't researched the Fair Tax yet, sign the petition anyway. It will open up the dialogue, which is a big step in the right direction.
